I think smart billet should make us some lockable waterproof storage tubes that fit inside them. It would be a cool place for a Hide-a-key as well.

Already in the planning stages.

If Colin Chapman (Lotus) had anything to do with the car's design he would have doubled-up the dD tube's use to include something in addition, like putting the exhaust system into it to save some header and catback weight. Like he did with his Formula 1 and 2 cars, and the Formula Ford's: he ran the coolant between the front radiator and the rear engine through the longitudinal chassis tubes.

Back to plugging tubes.

I run the bilge exhaust tube from my Triumph TR6 crankcase into the frame. Runs the blowby back under the rear of the car and keeps that inside part of the frame coated nicely with vaporized oil....Colin would be pleased.

My Buell is up there on the list of machines that dual purpose their components. Not too many Motorcycles store their fuel inside the frame, and the oil inside the swingarm. Checking and changing the oil is a bit of a pain, but I admire the engineering and the thought that went into it.

Salt scoop.

OK Boys, Wife thought of this one.

A hard rubber Hockey Puck fits the ID of the DD tube perfectly. Its tight enough to be rapped in with a rubber hammer, but it will probably have to have a hole drilled in it to pull it back out.

A brand new regulation Hockey Puck at you're favorite sporting goods store will run you 99 cents each.

Now the next thing is... Is there any reason not to seal up those salt scooper tubes???.

They are in reverse scooper position, and mostly pointed down. Natural drain. Anybody ask all the 450 owners if this is a problem? Uses same system.

Any chloride (not necessarily chlorine) is a "salt" - a halide.
