Seat Belt Guide Issues

I've been having some issues with the seat belt getting twisted, doubled-up, or somehow locked-up inside the seatbelt guide, so that there is NO free play with the seatbelt! Has anyone else had this problem, and has anyone come up with a simple solution to resolve it???

Only thing that I could think that might fix the problem is getting one of those SMART chest pads that goes over the belt. Since it is so wide, it might keep the belt straight for ya and not get bunched up inside.

Already have those! They slide up and down on the belt, so don't really accomplish anything as far as keeping the belt from twisting. It always happens as I'm pulling the belt down for use......one end slips out of the guide or it doubles over and locks up!

The passenger side in my smart had that problem and I fixed it with a little blue masking tape. I just put about two layers of blue masking tape covering the gap in the guide and have not had the problem since.

I used blue masking tape because it has a slick surface on the blue side and the adhesive will not leave residue when you remove the tape.

Since I'm short the seat belt was hitting me too high. I was also having the same problems mentioned here. I simply removed it from the guide. Better height and no problems.

I haven't gotten my smart yet, but don't they have the adjustment thing for shorter ppl? Its been a few since I looked at one at the dealer and that was not one thing I was looking at. Hehe.

when I moved the seat all the way back on the passenger side, the belt got folded up in the guide. It looks like the guide is too close to the opening with the seat that far back.
