Seat belt and/or seat belt tensioner replaced

Under warranty. 11,600 miles, 16 months old. 1.5 days in shop, had to wait for part to arrive. Staff said seat belt had been replaced, text on invoice seems to indicate only tensioner was replaced.

They washed the car, whereas I didn't get a wash when we did the 1-yr maintenance. Go figure.

What caused you to get this replaced?

A persistent red airbag light appeared to the left of the instrument cluster.

Comments on the invoice included above states replaced seat belt tensioner but actual invoice description states seat belt replaced. Maybe one cannot buy a tensioner w/o buying entire seat belt assembly.

We just had ours driver side replaced @ a cost of $485.00 out of warranty and ext warranty does not cover it.

I would think malfunctioning safety equipment would be a lifetime replacement. But I don't know. I think It should be.

If you had a bump and your air bag deployed would you expect smart to cover the used up part.

No that would be silly, But safety equipment that can't even perform a normal function in ordinary use. Leaves me alittle uneasy about it performing in an accident.
