Seatbelt buzzer

Anyone know how to disconect the seat belt buzzer??

OK guy's, I'm not on a suicide mission!! but I only go about a block to the coffe shop in the morning and have to listen to the buzzer until I stop. There's no traffic between so I don't use the seat belts.

Belts keep you in the Vehicle!

WHY ?
I always read that the people that die in accidents weren't wearing their belts. The others in the car were mostly uninjured.
If you have the patience the beeping will stop after 1 or 2 minutes.

I would not want to deactivate it but wish there was about a 30 second time delay so that I do not have to hear the beeping. I usually buckle-up after starting the engine. Not a real big deal, but I feel rushed to stop the beeping. (I do not like to buckle-up before starting the engine.)

The beeping doesn't start unless you drive over 8 mph and stops when you stop the car. It also will only make noise for a while unless you stop, then the timer starts over. Since it is controlled by the computer, there is no real way to disconnect it except to leave the seatbelt plugged in and sit on it. A bad thing to be doing if you get pulled over.

Why indeed? Some people get a great rush flirting with death. I'll never understand the thrill.

Mine (09 Passion Coupe) starts as soon as the key is turn to the right. I don't care about any other timers since I drive with the belt fastened.

I have a 08 Pure. If the door is open you get the beep when you turn the key or start the motor, but it only beeps briefly with the door closed and the motor on (I think) I have trained myself to ignore it most of the time.

I may eventually learn to also ignore it, but it beeps constantly until I buckle up (usually within 10 second or less). If they made a change from 08, maybe they should re-think this change.

jimvw57,

This morning I though about what you said and waited before buckling up. You are right! The beeping stops after about 15 seconds. This now explains why the beeping did not restart when I unbuckled to go back in the house a few day ago for something I forgot.
