Sounds like both the Jan and Feb builds have problems. Smart USA is sure not saying much about it...Like a recall maybe?

Good thinking on the notch, sounds like they stuck those crappy knobs back on. I sure as hell hope they lubed them this time. A2Jack

The country will come to a standstill: no "D"?
No "D"=no drive.
Only an "N", for neutral? Or neutered?
And a mere "R"?
That'll solve lots of issues, won't it?

I have a Feb. build. It has the "new" shifter as pictured above. Thus far no problems of any type. Only had the car for a little over 2 weeks and 600 miles.

are you talking about the indicated place being 2-tone? In this pic, that looks like a shadow... I guess I still dont get what ya mean...

Pix not clear?

SmartyPantz. Sorry you are having problems with my pix.

The image of the old box was NOT shot to show the shifter, rather the pix was shot for another post depicting the removal of the cover (see arrows).
The image does, however, clearly show the two colors of the old, two piece shifter sleeve.

The image of the new shifter is well lighted and quite clear. We use a good Cannon Camera and in these shots we are using a wide angle lens.

I looked again at these posts on an older lap top and they are very clear.
Perhaps the graphics on your computer are a bit slow?

Please post some shots of your shifter and we will know right away if it's the bad one.

Best Regards.
A2Jack.

a2, don't think she's criticizing the photo, just trying to be sure what you mean. As the photo wasn't intended to highlight the shifter that's understandable. So no need to fire back with the comment about the graphics card.

And Jwight. No need to fire back at me on my graphics comment.

You may be one of the best Mod's on the internet, but at times...

Man, forgive me as well... Your picture of the "old" shifter looks like a shadow to me too. I don't see 2 pieces there.

My build date is 11/07 and looks just like your "new" one.
