Hmm, on my 17" iMac (pre glossy screen), my Dell Inspiron notebook, and my Dell Latitude D610 from work, the pics all look the same. No slow equipment here . Looks like a shadow to me, as well.

Should have added this yesterday. I also put a small but deliberate knick on my shifter box before it went to the service dept. for replacement. The original shifter box was returned, the only thing that I can see that was replaced was the shifter stick(was 2 piece, now is 1 piece). So I have my original gear shift knob and shifter box.

"The Sadow Knows".

OK. I still don't see a shadow, but if you all see it, then it is there. This is probably a matter of the picture I have in my head, and I can't see what is really there. A lesson learned. I will watch my lighting even more closely from now on.

I deleted all the pix I had of the old box and had to grab one where I could, so "grain of salt" on the old box pix. if anyone should find some pix of the old box please post them here. Lets refine this info.

Thanks for all the replies.

A2Jack.

Jwight. Good pix. We now need another shot of the old shifter that shows the two pieces a bit more clearly. I will make a short, new post with the two new pix, and if you would, you could put it up in a sticky.
Thanks A2Jack.

Old Shifter

This a very much lightened copy of the "old shifter" lever. I can see the demarkation between the two pieces now.
