Thanks Evilution for your info. Let me know if you try out Jig-a-loo and how it holds up.

Thanks

WD excels at water displacment. Which is why you use it liberally on a wet rifle or shotgun as it evaporates quickly.
Never use it as a gun lube.
Use it on electronics though, as it leaves no residue (or lube).
Kerosene the recommended petrochemical for cleaning and lubricating the chain on my motorcycle. love this rocket science stuff.
and I always thought it left a dry film on anything you sprayed it on non conductive but still with a slight lubricating quality.

A fine plan, with only 2 drawbacks.
They don't sell Jig-a-loo in England
and
the Europeans don't get this problematic redesigned gearstick arrangement.

Shifter stuck

My shifter was stuck Did not dare put it in Park for fear I would not be able to go anywhere.

I parked it in neutral and kept the emergency brake on. I had to leave the key in the ingintion. I only did this for one day and parked in the garage.

My smartie got towed from work and returned in 3 hours or so. I guess they replaced the shifter - I did not see any paperwork.

Now I am having a problem with the seat jamming. I can not move the seat forward.

I have to run it to the dealership tomorrow. The dealer said they saw it one other time before?

Shifter stuck

My shifter was stuck in the drive position. However, I could move it to neutral. Shut the car off in neutral, made sure I parked only were I could go forward. Did this for one day and got a tow from 800 Smart and they towed it to the dealership. the tow drive took it at 8:30 in the morning from work. He was nice enough to stay while they fixed it. It only took minutes to fix it. Was back at my office in 3 hours or so, took longer to drive there than it did to fix it.
