Is there anywhere I can get a Smart shop manual ? Calling the dealer for technical info right now is pointless.

Ok then**-if the US '08s have Mitsubishi mills, is there a Mitsubishi manual that would cover them?
I think I remember the trannys are by BMW**if they're off the shelf units,there should be manuals out there.

To my knowledge this engine (a 3B??) has never been used in this form in anything except the 2007-onward smart, not even by Mitsubishi. It is a derivation of another engine intended for a Japan-only Mitsubishi kei car. The transmission is made by Getrag with a bunch of smart electronic "monkey-motion."
