Smart Center Cincinnati Service

Has to be the worse service I have seen. i have had the car there twice for service. They have no experience servicing the car. They did not even put in the Smart lifts to put up in the air for servicing. they use the old type rack service lifts and are putting hockey pucks on them to lift a Smart in the air. They had to order a part for my car. I did not hear from them for two weeks so I called them. the service manager finally remembered they had worked on my car but they failed to order the part. He said they would get it. Then two days later called and said he lost the part number and wanted to know if I could give it to him off the service order they gave me.

They are a Porsche dealer and could care less about Smarts.

Wow, this is not good to hear. May be making the drive to Columbus after all.

Yes not what I expected. I will be going back to Germain for service as they have been just great in the service department. I feel like the Smart dealer in Cincinnati is in this on a part time basis. Also their hours for service are very limited compared to Germain.

After waiting 14 months for my smart to arrive, I was on the verge of picking it up on Wednesday until I saw the comments about the service. Now I am not sure what to do; I want the smart but I do not want to have poor service. Have any other Cincinnati smart owners had any problems with service with the Cincinnati Smart dealer? Any comments from experienced smart owners will be appreciated.

Just my opinion, but go ahead and get the car. It requires minimal service anyway, the 10K service is a DIY project, and if they don't get their act together (remember, they haven't been open all that long) Columbus isn't that far away.

PS - probably wouldn't hurt to discuss your concerns with the smart general manager before going in to get the car.

Cincinnati smart

I purchased my car in Louisville in January since we didn't have a dealer at the time (10600 fun-filled, trouble-free miles so far). I'll have my serviced at Precision Motorcars (an independent M/B shop; full disclosure - I am a former employee). We serviced my earlier Euro version smart as well. Conscientious and careful.

Good to hear - how far are they from Dayton? Also, have you heard anything about MC Motors (run by Mark Cornett), an M-B shop close to Dayton? Thanks!

Thanks, Premoto1 and Jwight for your comments. I am still deciding about buying the Smart. It is good to know that there are other options about service.
