I wonder if the electronic nannies will prevent some people from avoiding accidents. According to Road & Track, the smart recorded the slowest slalom speed of any car they've tested. When the nannies kick in, it apparently understeers severely (plowing straight ahead instead of turning). Will this cause some people to plow into something they could swerve around in another car? Last year, I came upon a large twisted up aluminum ladder in the middle of my lane on the freeway. I swerved onto the shoulder and around it at 65 MPH in my ZX2 with no electronic nannies, but would the smart allow this or would it plow straight ahead into the ladder and cause serious damage to the car?
