Thanks MisterP - keep us informed! I'll be watching this thread. smart of East Hartford out here did something to "fix" mine but the rattle was back within a couple of days. They lubed it or something.

Just had mine in for the 2 year/20K service and reported the same problem. The dealer (Sarasota) has ordered a new pair of rails for me. They say it will take a week or two for them to get here, but they are being replaced under warranty. We'll see if that gets rid of the problem!

I just recently started noticing rattle in my '09 Cabrio. I don't know the terminoloy, but the the farthest back insert on the driver side (the one closest to the engine) has the 1mm-2mm play the author wrote about in the top post. It seems he found an acceptable workaround, but the image link is broken!! Can somebody repost an image of the adjustment he made? I'm having trouble visulazing. I want to give this a shot.

I might call my local dealership to see if they have any '08 pieces too...

:-)

Just FYI, the other two inserts that ride in the rails have no room for play. It's just the one on mine. Considering that not everybody has exactly the same issue, and the '08s mostly (all?) don't have this issue, I wonder if it's just that some of these little pieces were manufactured by a different factory or in a different run and just ended up a hair bit off in size?

Anyway, I hope somebody can restore the picture in the top post, or provide something equivelent. I really want to try to fix this. It drives me nuts. I notice it most when a gust of wind pulls on the top a little (I guess some air pressure differences causes it to flutter) then the little piece rattles like crazy in the rail.

Sarasota replaced our rails. It still rattles some but perhaps a bit less. I have learned to ignore it.

I have an 09 cabrio, and as far as I know, my rails don't rattle. Maybe they do, but perhaps all those years of listening to loud rock in my youth is finally paying off !!

Mine do if the top is down. I think it is the no tention on the rails that make it rattle.
