Stains on 'folds' interior of soft top

Does anyone know how to remove the dark lines that appear on the folds in the interior of the soft top? I tried a marine cover cleaner once last summer but it didn't quite do the job and I had to scrub which I didn't like doing considering the fabric is so soft and thin. If any else has had this problem I'd love to know how you solved it,my poor lil'car really wants a detail.

Could of swore there was a post on soft top car. It had some brand that is used and reccomended by the ppl that make the top. It has a cleaner in the process. Then you apply a sealer. It is supposed to really clean the top. You are supposed to do it after a harsh winter and then again after summer to keep your top looking good. Do a search and you might have some luck. Might of been in the maintenance section about 5 months ago at most.

I've never seen anything mentioned for cleaning the interior of the top. The only posts I remember were for the exterior. Mine is getting a little dirty too, so I'd also like to know if anyone has figured anything out. - sheureka

Oops! missed the inside part lol. I was thinking outside. My bad. I have not gotten that far, so best guess is some kind of inside cleaning for cloth. If that don't work, then no clue. Good luck then.

I've got the same problem - because I forget to keep the rollbar clean. (Bad Susie!) That's the culprit.

I'm thinking something very basic, like Simple Green, or maybe something heavy, like 409. Soap and water? It's just dirt and dust from the roll bar, so can't be that complicated. When I get a round toit, I'll report back.

....(looking for a round toit)...................

...damp cloth will do just fine...do the whole top to keep continuity and prevent shadows...no heavy cleaners...read 409/Simple green(quite corrosive)...

Thanks, Jetfuel. I had a hunch about the tough stuff, although I am a big fan of a ~drop~ and only a drop - of Joy in the cleaning water; it makes the water "wetter."
