My Smart Car stalled while driving at 45 MPH this weekend. I was going 45MPH and was slowing to make a left turn when mid-turn the entire car shutdown. When I stopped the key was still in the on position. I lost all engine and electrical, complete shutdown. Has anyone experienced this? What causes it? I have a call into dealer now.
Left turns have been a problem in the past if you bump the key with your leg it can shut down the car. Some call it a design flaw.
Put the car in N and restart it on the go if you need to.
