Stuck Cabrio Roof

Howdy all.
Saturday was a beautiful day here in the DC area.
Mid 80's and sunny.

I put down the top on my cabrio (and took off the roof bars) and cruised all over town running errands.
Last leg of my trip was on the capitol beltway (I-495).

I put the top up to the mid position to listen to the radio.

Got home, and needed to put the top down to put in the bars.
Pushed the button, the front part of the top went back about an inch, then moved to it's original position.

Kept trying the button, same problem.
An inch of movement back and then forward.

Tyson's smart center was still open, so I hopped over there (3 miles).
3 sales guys, one tech, and another cabrio owner mulled over the problem for 20 minutes, trying everything and anything.

NO JOY.

The techie was a mercedes tech not a smart tech.
He said to bring it back first thing monday and the smart tech would look at it.

Took her home and put her in the garage till monday morning.
Went to the smart center, dropped her off.

Issue is a failed microswitch on one side of the roof.
Part not in stock, overnighting and will install tomorrow.

Will keep you informed.

Well, I wish you all the best with this ragtop problem. I have experienced the ragtop not fully closing during heavy winds but I got it to close once I reduced my hwy speed. Unfortunately, I also broke the casing surrounding the button when I exerted too much pressure when I tried to engage the top. Keep us posted on the repairs. Thanks, Regina

Follow up on "Stuck Roof" issue

Dropped of my Cabrio at the dealer on Monday.
Got it back on Friday (really hated driving anything else)

The wait was for the "Micro Switch" (actually 2 parts) to be sent from the factory (France).

No problems since.

Service guy at Tyson's Smart Center was great.
Smart Tech was also great (although he broke my heart when he showed me my cabrio after he had to "decapitate" it?)

Warranty was spot on No charge.
