The passion rims, being aluminum probably won't bend back into shape before breaking. I like my Pure steel rims just for that reason. There are some tall curbs in town that have done some major damage to my vehicles through the years. Bent and broken running boards, rims, axles, even bent the tongue on a trailer. At least in a smart you can park farther from the curb without sticking out into the driving lane
I haven't seen "free air" at a gas station in a looooong time !!
I have to drop 75 cents each time I want to air up. Sadly, it's still easier than pulling out my compressor (the non-smart one) and hooking it up.
75 cents doesn't get you much time or air. I remove all the valve stem caps to get ready, before dropping in the quarters and still barely have time to check or fill all four little tires.
With the ol cad I would take 75 cents of time on one low tire.... Their compressors don't seem to have nearly the pressure that the Free ones of old had.
Another 75 cents for water???
Haven't had to use that, but I wonder how much water they let you have for your 3 quarters?
....when I asked after my bent wheel over in Cincinnati the said that the tire has to loose air before they covered... it doesn't matter is it is bent quite a bit..it has to loose air first...
jetfuel...still holding air
I guess you do have to read the fine print, you must have a different policy than I have. When I bent a rim last winter, they replaced it, no questions asked and it was holding air just fine. Actually, they even offered to flat bed the car to the dealer if I had any concerns about driving it there on a bent rim.
Whammed something just a block or two from work...
Light came on.
Pulled into my spot BIG dent in rim this time.
I am so pissed, it's only been since 10/30 and the same Rt/Rear.
I'm walking home tonight, I don't want to get involved with it
I'll let it sit here till I'm ready
To find out what this Tire and Rim Insurance covers
that I bought last week.
So...
Decided to take action on the bent rim/Insurance claim this morning.
Called Smart Seattle
Called the Insurance co
Called the Insurance Web site people
Called the Emergency Assitance
Called Smart
Seems I'm not entered anywhere yet.. Sorry sir you are not listed on the website, so we can't do anything for you... BUT but but, I have a contract here.
smart Seattle says they are re faxing all the info and I should be able to start over tomorrow with the calls and possibly get service. So, the smart sits and waits in the Driveway... I guess I should be happy I'm not out in the woods on a dark spot, sitting in the rain.
What to do? What to do? This is my Costco excursion day, Oh what shall I do?
Suppose I could clean the dinning room and prep for the Turkey day gathering.
Plus, that Deep Fryer for the turkey needs emptied and scrubbed...
Ummm, Deep Fried (Brined) Turkey.

Try a spicy, cajun style marinade with your fried turkey. (Inject it with a syringe and let it sit overnight.) You won't regret it.
