torn bra!

I know - it sounds sexy - but the truth is my smart's clear bra has a small tear! I didn't expect that. Hopefully the warranty will cover the repair. I can't imagine what caused it. Appointment with the bra guy on Monday.

There doesn't seem to be any dmage to the panel -- I wonder how bad it would look without the clear bra.

Bra...it's a clear film that protects the underlying paint.

Check it out: Product Information

Yeah, that's it.

It shouldn't tear, right?

No, it would only do that if some abrasion occurred. Hope the paint is OK! Keep us posted!!

No, it shouldn't do that at all. HOWEVER, had it not been there...whatever caused that abrasion would have torn up your paint and body panels pretty good. With that said, the clear bra did its job...and unless the installed caused the rip I would doubt it would be covered under warranty. I put the 3M clear bra on all my cars, and there have been times where the clear bra gets beat up (rock chips, nicks, etc.) to the point that I decide to replace that particular piece.

BTW, it is up to the installer, but they could theoretically replace the piece for you...and send the "defective" piece back to 3M. I hope this helps.

Oddly enough, I had the 3M clear bra installed on my other car yesterday. LOL

It looks like a tear that would happen, say, in a grocery store parking lot - someone's cart with a pointy sharp thing got you.

But- maybe it already had a defect, which made it easier for something like a grocery cart to snag and rip...I like that one.

I'm wondering too, if it's not under warranty, it could be covered under your comprehensive...

It looks so *sore!*

Who had a similar issue? "Snake"?
They had installed a bra on a panel that hadn't fully cured, or something along that line... And it had developed "blisters".
