tranny 2.0 (official program name: “smart 2.0 Check Up”)

for those of you that have an 08 and have had the re-flash what in your opinion are the differences. do you like it, hate it, what would you ask for in the 3.0 re-flash if there ever is one....

Had it done yesterday, and honestly I haven't noticed anything because I never have driven it in "D" (where I think most of the improvement lies). My wife may see something after driving it. To me the change in paddle shifting is inconsequential as I am always in hand-manual.

There are a couple of legal things to be done besides the electronics - the original VIN label has to be changed because it was found that it could be removed intact, and the original VECI lable could become unreadable. Only certain vehicles with certain options get the battery upgrade (I didn't), and you are given an arguably better owners manual.

Update: My wife, a "D" shifter, has had some seat time and feels it is better now, though she still feels I can shift smoother in hand-manual.

I had my upgrade done Saturday, 3/14/09, and I got the new battery, transmission, stickers, and a few other things. The battery upgrade is I believe for the Passion with factory alarm. The transmission upgrade does make some difference in the quickness of the auto shifts , and I like the ability to shift to the manual mode with the paddles.

In a week and 1/2 I take my 'o8 passion (w/o alarm) with comfort pkg for it's annual physical. I expect the oil change and everything that's listed for this checkup.

Am I correct in that I'll get a new batt. and a transmission reprog along with the usual?

The thread title has so many double meanings.

sato7 what you do on your own time should be kept to yourself.

I do not have auto-wipers/headlamps, or comfort package but I got the new battery. I do have a very early build date.

Do we have to wait for a letter from smart usa or the dealer to get these upgrades? I haven't been notified, but my 08 has comfort pack, so I would think I'd be invited for the new battery as well as the flash.

What's a girl gotta do to get flashed?
