A 20 meter blue-gum tree fell on my smart forfour and damaged the roof and tridion cell, does anyone know if this is repairable, or can I expect my insurance company to write it off? They're taking their sweet time making a decision.
This is my first post and no image links allowed but will post the pics shortly.
wow...looks pretty bad...can't tell you if it's trashed or not .
hope somebody with more expertise will chime in.
IMHO..if it is safety related I don't believe they will cut and splice a new section..
It was hectic, had my wife and kids in the car we were doing about 40km/h and the tree fell from approx. 10meters up the roadside embankment just tippled over onto us I never saw it coming.
About 2 weeks before this incident we had a rock thrown (from an overhead bridge - national pastime in South Africa) on the same car whilst driving on the highway, trashed the windscreen and now this! I won't be buying a convertible anytime soon that's for sure.
If you were in Maryland I would have to say start looking for a new car as roof structure damage is none repairable here by law. Looks a little to buckled to be fixed without a parts car to cut and weld from.
