Do I see a deployed passenger airbag in that picture as well?

You say a 20 meter tall blue gum tree hit you while you were in motion?

Like this one? (Google image search)

If that's pretty close to what hit you, that Tridion's toast. And I'm impressed. Seriously.

no airbags deployed. The bluegums here aren't the same as supergeek's pic. I went back to the crash site and took some pics; the tree that hit us was already being eaten by termites before it toppled, probably was struck by lightning at some stage and died. When it hit us it snapped in 2 places and bounced off the car.

The arrows show two parts of the tree, the 3rd piece (not pictured) is on the other other side of the road.

We've had hectic storms and wind lately, pictured below is another broken tree (presumably from the storms too) example, this also in the vicinity of the 'incident' but not the one that hit us. 8 people have died so far, houses have been flattened, about 5kms from the area pictured, it looks like a bomb blast, not a tree standing in the valley and many houses left without roof tiles.

it is my understanding that the tridion is not actually the "roll cage" - but rather the exterior covering over the actual roll cage tubing. if that tubing is not damaged it might be able to be prepared, but i would think the insurance adjuster and/or mercedes body shop could give you much more definitive answers than anyone here.

This is my first post and no image links allowed but will post the pics shortly.
Small car aren't worth much. If the damage cost to fix, is over half what the cars worth. They will total it. Has the insurance company given you any numbers yet on the car????? Has anyone one had a Smart car fixed yet, with serious damage???

I suspected as much. Can't compromise on the heart of the safety system.
