tridion safety cell--how can this be optional?

Please explain how this safety feature is optional; on their website, there is an extra cost for it. I don't understand.

hi schtdygirl,

the tridion cell is standard, the silver color is optional, as opposed to the standard black.

It's an extra cost to have it silver instead of the regular black.

I think you're referring to the cost to upgrade from a black tridion to a silver tridion. The tridion itself is standard and integral to the car.

What is optional is the silver metallic color of the tridion. Black is standard, but you can opt for silver for an extra $175.

Synchronicity? We both posted at the same time...

Since we are at this... why is it extra? It is not extra in Europe. Trying to steer market to a color preference?

A way back, at least in Switzerland, it use to be that black was the only choice for Pure, silver was optional for Pulse and standard for Passion. A way to differentiate the level of the models. But its cost was "hidden" in the total price.
