Ugh, not again... (alarm)

Yep. My problem is back.. 2 months fixing it and today it just went off 3 times in 15 minutes. Once within seconds after me walking out to silence it... Blargh. No sign of a single thing to set it off. Time to play the dealer game and make good use of that tow button again! Thank God I live close to the dealer.
Yeah, I know. No real purpose to this post besides a mini rant...
Ugh.

That's gotta be a PITA. Hope you have better luck with their next fix.

Oh, it's being funny now. No peep out of it since it went off til I took it to the dealer. They tested both sensors and ran the codes (yes, I know it doesn't bring up codes....) and everything was tight, secure and working properly. Hadn't had a peep out of it since. I think I'll name it Little booger. That works just fine. I guess that triggering was just a complete freak incident...
Oh, and there's no need to disconnect the battery.. thats so much more difficult than pressing the button...

I thought for sure it was fixed this time! right after I started this thread, they replaced EVERYTHING related to the alarm. Tow sensor, motion sensor..and the door and hatch sensors.
I found the tow sensor is once again, being a pain. Just a mere gust of wind sets it off. Literally just kicking the front tires is enough shake to set it off. Took it in, they replaced it today. The tech tested it right there. Still did it! They're still baffled as to what is causing it. If it were upside down.. you'd of thought out of the 4 times it was changed that it would have been put in properly at least once.
Rant over.

I guess I just got the pick of the litter, now didn't I?

It has happened to me as well but not very often, so how can I resolve it? The worst kind of problems are the intermittent ones. Ugh!

Happened twice within an hour or 2, then a month before doing it again. I thought it might be some stray radio waves....

I have 20,000 on it so I should probably bring it in to have them check it out.

As told by the tech, I'm one of 4 in the US lucky enough to have this recurring problem. They replaced the microwave motion sensor again and it's been quiet. But it stayed quiet for 7 months before it perked up again. The wind set if off on two separate windy days. But this time I was onto its little scheme. Little bugger! I could have sworn it was the tow sensor again with the tire kicking thing, but I can get it to go off now... unless they actually installed the tow sensor right side up this time.

No stray radio waves. That is exactly what mine did, as you see.
Have them check the Microwave Motion sensor, the Tow sensor, and if you have a cabrio; the microswitches.

I've had mine set off several times by small flying bugs. One was like an oversized gnat.

I took that into account when it originally started happening last year, but in 20F weather there isn't bugs flying... so that was ruled out. I'm known well at the dealer just for this issue. The smart service advisor knows my number by heart! (good or bad? Hah!) I may have had it fixed 5 times already, but there is at least 10 trips total for diagnostics and the roof. Thank goodness they're only 15 minutes away.
Still worth a check at the dealer seeing that it is a known problem.

I have been having the same problem for the last year. Both the interior motion sensor and the towing sensor have been replaced. My dealer does not want to do anything unless they can recreate the problem and since its intermittent it won't happen at the dealer but it happens in my garage or sitting in my driveway. I'll try turning off the towing sensor next time it starts happening.
