Velcro Carpets

My biggest Smart complaint is the carpet material. It's been a magnet for all sorts of dust, dirt, sand, lint, dog hair and undifferentiated particulate matter since day one. It seems like it's the same fiber and fabric as Velcro. I have to vaccuum it all the time. I'm wondering if it's an air flow thing that draws inwards when driving with the window open. I'm probably going to end up getting new carpeting, only this time in a neutral tone likek tan, at least it wouldn't show the dirt as much.
Anyone else notice this?

Yes, it's the same in my Scion. Because the optional Scion carpet mats used the same material, only slightly thicker, there not much help.

For the smart I ordered thick-pile carpet mats and they vacuum up easily.

Are the carpets you ordered a smart product? I purchased the rubber mats but they show every bit of dirt.

For the smart I ordered thick-pile carpet mats and they vacuum up easily.

I did not purchase the smart brand carpet mats, but bought Lloyd Mats instead. They are much thicker, and do not have a "velcro" effect.

Did you find a particular Lloyd mat which was well configured for the smart?

I ordered the LLoyd Ultimat from The Mat Depot.

Posted some photos in another thread. The mats look like they were shaped so that one design fit both smart fortwo models 450 & 451. I didn't want the embroidered logo but as stevenvillatoro pointed out it doesn't show up as an option.
