I don't believe so.
The trunk has to be BEHIND the engine to be "mid-engine"...ie. Pontiac Fiero

Midengined cars have the engine within the wheelbase. Rear engined cars have the engine behind the wheelbase. i guess that means that the Fortwo is midengined, like the 914, the Boxster and The Mclaren F1 cars.
