acording to MB SMART dealers technical department.. it is a normal part of the smart operation..... that is what they told me to my face TODAY.

they said that after writing down in my paperwork that they could not duplicate my vibrating mirror scenario.??????

Check dirt accumulation in the inside of the wheel, At high speeds mine was vibrating and i found that last time i washed it i missed a spot of gunk on my wheels seeming throwing it off balance. My guess is the lightness of everything makes small weight differences matter.

It is ever so slight, but enough to make things blurry. The passenger side is steady.

I have a little but its not making it very blurry. If you have the cabrio it could be due to the fact that convertibles are less stiff than other cars.

I think in a $13K car it may be something you have to live with if its not a wild vibration. Have you driven a demo with a similar configuration at the dealer to see if it does it.

I once had a Honda Prelude with a vibrating driverside mirror. I'm sure it was from wind buffeting, not body vibration. The jury-rig was to put a small block of foam plastic in the body of the mirror, behind the glass. The plastic was soft enough to allow the electric mirror's 4-way adjustments, but resilient enough to stop the fluttering. I never noticed a problem with the mirror heater either.

when is 13k an excuse for a vibrating mirror! for petes sake! mine vibrates also, drivers side only. It seems that taller drivers as they push the mirror out more, I'm 6'3", the mirrors angle makes things worse.
the trick of putting something to dampen the vibration behind the mirror itself is probably the only good fix. I've seen many cars that actually have a closed cell foam anti vibe pad behind the mirror as OEM. including some in the cheaper end of the spectrum.... 13k OMG!
