What 's sound after engine off?

Smart forfour sb3 auto form Thailand .
when engine off ,my engine have a new sound "crak! crak!!" near gearbox on the right under the battery.
I don't understand. what 's this sound?
My gray market tell me. This sound is electronic clucth .
And very expensive.
Can you tell me.Please
I think,in Thailand Smart forfoursb3 only me. saddd.

It's probably the clutch actuator releasing. Mine does it too - it's normal.

If you turn the ignition on without starting the car and cycle the gears you'll probably hear it making some noise.

Yes!,, when ignition is on before start,I hear this sound too.
-It's normal.

Being as how the Forfour was a reworked Mitsu with an actual auto trans, my guess is whatever 451 noises we know about don't transfer to that car. Probably better to have a Mitsu mechanic check it out.

It's normal The 450s do this as well.

What am I missing here - the 450/451 cars are not related to the Forfour, other than being called a smart. No engine/tranny commonality at all.
