Wheezy heater?

Now that the weather here in Illinois is cold enough to turn my heat up to max, the blower at all speeds makes a wheezing noise but starts to go away when I turn the temp down below 70 and completely gone at coldest setting at all speeds. Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,
Andy

My guess would be that the sound you're hearing is coolant flowing through the heater core.

It is the sound of air. I need to check the duct for an obstruction.

When the blower is running, open and close the dash vents. The vents close completely when you push the sliders toward the outside of the car, passenger side goes extreme right, driver side extreme left. I sometime get strange air noise if the vents are completely closed and the positioning dial is not set to floor only.

would take it is to the dealer. Let them find out what it is. sounds like something in the before or in the exchanger box since you can not hear it when the damper to the heater core is closed. pull your filter out and see if it still makes the noise.
