Where is Purge Valve Located?

I get the "tick, tick, tick" as some have described which may be the purge valve as it seems to decrease at times when car is idling. Someone mentioned theirs was touching the body, or something, and after it was tied back it stopped the ticking. Would like to locate the purge valve on mine if someone can tell me where its located, or possibly post a picture?

FWIW: I hear it inside but when I open the motor lid I can't find were its coming from; doesn't seem as loud as inside the car.

There are some pictures of the actual process of changing that valve, but I cannot find them (more than a year old...)

Thanks for the pic; made it easy to find. I run my finger all around it, and the bracket, and nothing is touching. Must simply be a noisy PV. Will look for a small piece of suitable insulation to wrap around it to see if that mutes the sound.

I took my smart car to the Dallas dealer, they told me the tapping noise was normal and they would not try to fix it.
When I have someone ride in the car with me they always ask what that tapping noise is.
Can anyone tell me where a dealer is that has fixed thiers?

Same here at Edison, NJ dealership.

I took our first smart car, an '08 passion, to dealer in Milwaukee, and he fixed the rat tat sound in short order. Haven't had the sound occur in our '09....
