This is natural for a three cylinder engine, the balance of the pistons isn't the same as for a car with an even number of cylinders so you get more engine noise.

Every 451 I've seen has made the same "lawn tractor" noise at idle.

Oh gosh no, on a car like ours where it's brand new to the market any number of things could go wrong so having the extended warranty is one of the best investments you can make.
