Wix 49301 (repeat, 301) Air Filter now available?

Talked to a friend who manages a local larger sized Mom & Pop auto parts store last Monday and he looked up an air filter for me. Came up with a 49301 and did a search and the only ones available were in the North Carolina warehouse which is believable because of Wix's location.

They should start trickling out to your local mom & pop auto parts stores soon (as well as O'Reilly since they carry Wix) and I hope he got the number right but he does sometimes look up the wrong #'s occasionally.

I was trying to keep this one to myself so I could corner the non-dealer air filter market but I decided to tell you guys anyway. Not sure what the price will be for you guys but I know it'll be way less than the dealer and Wix is a very high quality filter.

They now have the oil filter and air filter listed - when I did my 10,000 mile service only the cabin air filter was listed (and I used one). CarQuest brand filters are Wix, so all three should be available at any local CarQuest dealer. The air filter is 49301 (not 49103), cabin air filter 49351, and oil filter 57040. And I think CarQuest uses the same numbers. - sheureka

I actually had written down 49301 but flipped the numbers around when I typed it (hey mods, please change the title).

Carquest & NAPA Gold series are Wix - If memory serves correct there is an 8 instead of 4 at the beginning.

I'm going to keep on the store about keeping a few in stock....It's a Carquest. Manager is the manager because of me anyway so I kknow he'll keep this area well stocked for them. I got his foot in the door 20 years ago when I quit to join the military and he got turned down when we tried to join together. My father hired him on in my spot as a counterman/delivery boy.

I ordered two Wix 49351 CABIN air filters last week on-line and the total cost for the two including delivery was $51.23. The cheepest I had found by shopping auto parts stores locally was about $38.00 ea plus tax.

The filters were in stock and should be here by mid-week.

NAPA markets Wix products under the NAPA brand and with the last three digits of the Wix number. The engine air filter is 9301 ($18.79) and the cabin filter is 9351 ($39.99).

Amazon has Fram activated charcoal filters for ~ $14 each. Seems high quality and good fit. Had to buy 2 to get free shipping.

I was doing the math - a mod responded to the thread and things got fixed. My math sucks.
