wrench with '-1' showing?

When I first start my Fortwo, it shows a wrench and a '-1' where the mileage was. After a couple of minutes, they are both gone. I can understand the wrench since it would indicate needing to be checked but what does the '-1' mean?

I would check the manual ( and I will) but I thought I ask here too.

It is now 2 days over due. It now shows '-2'.

...oh no...tomorrow it will be -3....

..just reset it...if you've done your schedule maintenance....

Ours just showed up too (after recharging the battery - another story

) but the car has had two oil changes and the cabin air filter looks fine so a reset is all it's getting.

Mine had a -56 until I reset it last Sunday. Used the Evilution method and took several tries until it read 10,000.

Mine is now -3.

Funny how we are all on this thread within a day or two with -1 or -2.

Since I've already changed the oil @ ~ 5000 miles, I guess I'll just reset. Unless of course there are things that the dealer will do for free under the warranty.

I should know this, but do we have an all-inclusive warranty like the MINI where the in-warranty visits are free? TIA

I am at the Smart Center Edison - aka Ray Catena Mercedes - service center. It is really nice. I came in the morning. They have breakfast items and food. The people are really friendly. I stopped at the center thinking it was there. The service center is just north of it. It was easy to get to. I would highly recommend Smart Center Edison - aka Ray Catena Mercedes - to buy a Smart car.

I will report more once the service is completed.

I had stopped at the dealer before coming to the service center. I saw a lot of Smart cars. They really lliked nice. There was a nice variety.
