Air Compressor

I found a perfect air compressor for my smart car and just wanted to share the info for those of you who do not already know about it.

As with most, if not all, G&K cars, there is a big hole where the compressor is supposed to be. I measured the hole and it is about 6.5" x 6" x 3" deep. Went to Wal-mart and found one with the exact dimensions. When I went to see if it would fit the hole I was pleasantly surprised to see that the fit was better than good, it was actually perfect. Not loose, not tight, just snug. My only guess is that it must be the exact model that was originally in there.

I only wanted the compressor but it also came with a bottle of "Slime" sealant and some various valve fittings (valve removal tool, adapter, etc. for installing the sealant if needed). Total cost $19.00, plus tax.

The kit is called SMART SPAIR (correct spelling) and sold under the brand name "Slime".

No, I do not have stock in the company. Just wanted to share. Forgive me if most everyone already knows about this.

I've got the same kit as a backup for my 451. Actually so I don't have to use the factory kit. Bought on clearance at Advance Auto Parts.......$2.50!!! (doubt that will happen again)

Not to rain on your parade but Harbor freight has that compressor for $4.95. I have it in the place for it in the foam by the battery in my 450.

Thanks Donald, but I guess my skills at finding products in Harbor Freight do not match yours. I just went to their web site and did several searches, including compressor, compresser, slime, air, etc. and out of more than 500 items they only had one 12v small air compressor which is slightly bigger and a little more expensive and does not come with the slime. Was that a one time special deal or maybe only at your local Harbor Freight? I have another 450 which I want to put the compressor in also, so if you have the exact link where I can get one just like I got for only $4.95 I would really appreciate it!

I have the same compressor kit, got mine at Autozone 3 years ago for about $20.
