Does anyone rebuild 450 alternators in North America?

The alternator in my 2005 euro model 450 is bad and a new one is over $300. Any alternatives?

I have tried the alternator rebuilder companies and they cannot come up with any parts for the alternators or starters. I did adapt a Chevy alternator on one of my cars when I did not want to spend the money for a new one. Just buy a new one and do not worry about getting it rebuilt.

Have it diagnosed by an alternator rebuilder.

The problem will be (90 to one) a diode. Replace the diode any electronic supply house, no automobile manufactures diodes.

Lessor chance is an open stator winding. If so, have it rewound. how many turns you ask, tell them to count them when taking them off.
