Hey ASM...and anyone else worried about a posting "time out" or lost connection or goofy board happenings.

Try opening a blank Word/Works/text document on your desktop once you're on-line. As you read a posting and then decide to place a response, copy and paste the selected post over to your own document. Then type out your response, add link(s), etc. just as you would in the "Reply to Thread" window. When you are finished with your reply/post, Select All (Control + A keystroke), then Copy (Control + C keystroke).

Once you're ready, then go back to the given post, click on "Reply" and then Paste (Control + V keystroke) your typed work into the reply window. If you like, do some minor reformatting of highlights, colors, Smilies, etc... and then Submit your Reply. Easy as pie once you're used to it and no more lost posts.

Also, if you're really concerned about losing your posts for taking too long or you're interrupted in the midle of your typing, just save your work on your desktop and come back to it later. This also works for 'complicated' posts where sequence and multiple links need to be placed in your posting. You can take as long as needed to get it all setup then just copy and paste appropriately. This makes all your posts super smart.:woohoo

Hope that helps!

Yes the time limit when composing a longer message is stupidly short and only after you have experienced the stupidity then you have learned to use alternate techniques in posting longer messages here.

Hey, Asmartman, this is a really neat way to monitor your mileage... and accurate. Keep in mind that the amount of miles to your first "blob out" will be determined by the gas pump location and whether it is truly level or slightly up or down. I once obtained 171 miles on my first blob on highway driving under 60mph, but I'm convinced it was because of the incline at the gas pump location when filling it before the trip. Normally it's in the 120-130 range for that type of driving. Keep the reports coming for this real life and accurate monitoring. Thanks!

My attempts at hyper mileage always revolve around long trips, all highway, all 55 mph, drafting trucks up to 65mph whenever possible. Got really lucky today. Every highway I merged onto had a truck practically waiting for me going at the speeds I like. Made a round trip from Delaware to Central NJ, both times looping around Philadelphia to my smart dealer in Devon Pa. I put 259 miles on this trip with 5.207 gallons of fuel. Worked out to 49.74 mile per gallon. Best I have done before was 43 something. Used the same pump, and toped off before leaving and after coming back. I know you shouldn't do it but I filled it to point it spilled. This was done on my 451 model. Not trying to invade your turf 450's but I had to tell someone.

You Know it's funny

snow was predicted for this last weekend, I just switched to 32 PSI summer tires today

I've also been in lazy mode (Auto) this week (auto shifting with the snow tires on) I can watch the blips drop as I drive. once I'm done and with JOY for Driving A NEW and tank, then I'll switch to back road HyperMIling .

So for 2 weeks I'll travel back and forth to work on roads the never exceed 50 MPM but in the end I can enter the 400 club, not a bad club for a gas driven 450 ownwer, but as a NON morning person these earlier start/later end time. will take it's tool /

soon to be grumpy
