front suspension noises (2006, Canada)

Hi My name is Judy and I am from B.C. I am getting a real sqeaking sound from the right front of my Fortwo, it is a 2006. It sounds like it is coming from the right front spring, has any one else had this problem. I srayed lube on the suspension spring ,it took a bit of the noise away. Could it be the rubber boot around the spring drying out?
Thanks for your feedback.

Based on yor description, I believe maybe the top bearing of the suspension is worn-out. If needed, I can email a detail diagram and part number for you. My email: ernest@smartpitstop.com

We're *450* friendly ;^)

Hi Judy,

Sorry to hear you are having problems with your 450. I would suggest posting your thread in the Original smart fortwo forum.

We have friendly local 450 owner/members in W WA, ID and BC, and it is always good to have them in your circle.

Good luck and
Timo

It would be worth the 3.5 hour drive to Victoria (avoid Nanaimo) for a diagnostic, at your next service. They're good people at Three Point Motors.

Or go see Eddy at Flying Tiger. That would be my recommendation.

A good choice too, if you don't mind the ferry cost. Is your car still under warranty?
