Welcome, Briansmart! Neat group of people in this 450 area. Very helpful, and VERY intelligent. Nice work on upgrading your cars! Colorado is also the home of one of the two 2007 smart cars with Mercede's engines. Silver on Silver if you happen to see it. Big state though!

Rgaus - i haven't seen it but I have seen a light blue and silver 450 running around town (i live in Boulder). I'll keep my eyes out. Interesting side note, my number 107 is silver on silver. But its a 2005.

Just bought my first Smart Fortwo today. It was a 2006 G&K model 450 with 10k miles, blue with silver trim. Jackson, NJ here. Not sure where I will get servicing yet. Hopefully won't need that for awhile anyway.

Welcome to the 1026 club (the G&K total).

As far as service goes, well ask around, I am trying to make this home to the Gray owners as well as trying to debug the most difficult of the Smart car, the SAM unit.

Enjoy your new toy with the correct driving style you can get 50+ MPG yet that style can get boring.

I say the above because, I have recently fallen in love with the turbo and the kick it gives (like the quad kicking in, in an early 70's vette that I've owned) while driving.

There are LOTS of resources available, but you have to PM people to get them. No one will offer proprietary info in an open forum Hint, Hint

I am the owner of a 2005 G&K Passion Carbrio in the Hillsboro Oregon area.

I have a 2006 G&K model 450 with 10k miles, black with silver trim, driving almost 1 year now! The Car is getting ready to roll on 10k mi., I put on about 6k this year. I've had an oil change, repairs for drivers side window regulator and AZ (front hose), both done by Premier Automotive in Tempe, AZ (they work on my Toyota). Chandler Mercedes/Smart dealership won't work on or sell me parts, which in hindsight is probably good, I'm saving tons of $$$!

No modifications to date and I love this forum, lots of information and folks are really helpful - Thank You!

We drive ours 90 miles a day and LOVE it!!! The only draw back is that we can't find anyone locally (Glendale to Malibu, California)to service it and have been doing it ourselves....actually, I have been doing it while my husband sits back and laughs! The oil changing is a breeze and putting the scoop on was also easy. I did have a problem taking the panels off the rear and sides to see why I was getting an exhaust smell. Turned out a curved pipe had cracked so since I knew my limits I taped it with metal tape and called G & K. They were GREAT!!! They replaced it since it was a defect. No problem at all.
Now, I have a headlight that is out and am having a problem replacing it
