Evening my fellow 450'ers
Well here in S/E New Hampshire we got nailed with snow this weekend and 2 thing that may help others.
1: I was busy this fall (actually LAZY) and didn't get a chance to put on my snows and (I just put them on tonight) braved 2 snow storm here with the stock tires.
Well I must say having 1 winter under my belt, the car seemed to do rather OK with the stock tires, what I don't like is in heavy snow with your lights on the reflection off the snow flakes I found to be rather blinding (stock tires, blizzard conditions about 4 inches on the ground).
Now watch this NOW that I put on the snow tires, it won't snow again
2: this morning, when trying to back up, it was resisting (not moving like I had my foot on the gas and the brake), I switched to drive hit the gas and the same (torqued up but didn't move), I went into reverse and hit it pretty good, and it broke free.
I'm not sure if the pads were frozen to the disk of I had ice around the hubs, or the tires were frozen to the driveway, then it happened.
2 amber lights come on solid, 1 I know is the traction control light the other I assumed was the check engine light (down 1 and to the left of the traction control light). I proved the traction control wasn't working (WOW can you do nice donuts with these things) nor was the ABS.
The roads still had snow and didn't want to risk it so I took the wife's car to work and posted on the UK sight asking for guidance.
I get home tonight, plug in my PDA/Trip computer, tell it to get all the codes and

it returned NOTHING, I'm saying to myself "Self" how can you get a check engine light with NO codes, WELL it is beacuse it wasn't the check engine light it was the ASB light (had my glasses on so I could read the PDA).
So I took the car down the road and the moment the auto door locks engauged both lights went out.
This is a guess, because I was able to do donuts, and I don't recall the auto door locks kicking in this morning after the the lights came on, I believe the car has to be shut off then restarted for this error to auto clear.
So for those in a snowy place if you get this kind of problem DON'T sweat it (today I did enough for everyone), just cycle the power and drive away and this problem will auto clear.
Later All
