To install AC when it does not come in the car, can be done but it can be very expensive if you have to buy new parts. Used parts are the only way to go. Lots of wiring and lots of parts. Dropping the engine down to install the AC pump and lines. Reprograming the ECU to make it work. If you cannot do this yourself you will need lots of $$$$$.
Your car being a 2000 model is very rare. Lots of small differances compared to the newer 2003 cars. Most parts will fit. E-Bay would be the only way to go. The wiring is a big problem. There are some parts on E-Bay right now for a 2000 car.
If your car never had AC. You will need.
Evaporator
AC lines from Compressor to Evaporator
Condenser which goes into the heater box
Switch plus wiring that goes into the dash
AC compressor with bracket and belt and adjustor.
plus wiring which means wiring harness.
The alternator will have to be upgraded
And lots of small things
