Oil Filters for 450

Smart Center Portland has a small few in Stock for $10 each

they are also doing oil pan drain plug conversions (adding a drain plug to oe pan)
dont know the price on that, have to check with them on it.

I called my Dealer's Part Department, to order oil filters. The man I spoke to asked questions to ensure I had a new 2008 US Smart. He then looked my information up on their computer to verify. He said they are not allowed to sell parts to anyone else. No support for anything other than 2008 US Smart cars...

Just Curious, is this true for all Dealerships in the states? Just seems odd to me.

It varies by dealership, I believe. I think that ALL 2008 smart dealerships are probably prevented by Penske from openly working on 450's or buying parts for the 450's. If you have another Mercedes dealership in town, check with them. The service departments are supposed to be independent profit centers from the sales departments. That would usually give them some matter of choice in whether they worked on your car (and supplied parts) or not. If you can't get parts, but have a dealer (any shop, Mercedes or not), let me know and I'll get you, or them, the parts.
