I've had my 450 in the US since December 2006 and after almost 60k miles, have gotten pretty good at doing my own service.
I've got full checklists for A and B service and some good sources for parts should anyone need anything. Feel free to use me as a resource should you have any questions or need help with anything!

Wow, Halon X, great to hear you are so close. I have a '06 450 in Ventura, CA. and was hoping to find some place with a computer with smart software. Was trying to get a cruise control installed, however, eventually got the MDC crise control. Also, it will be needing routine care in the future. thanks for the post.
A 451 smart dealer will be able to help with your 450 as well.
They probably won't know it but their 451 software also has 450 software on it as well, it only becomes apparent when you plug a 450 into it.

Thanks "Evilution", that's a tidy piece of information. Hope I don't need it for a long time but ........ really nice to be aware of it.
As I hear from folks around the country who have tried this, there is a general tendency with most US dealers connected to Penske to keep an arms length from helping any 450 owner. Not sure if that's the official word, but I've heard it too often not to suspect that is the company line. Not much we can do about it until the reins are loosened and the poor dealers are allowed to make money in any way they can. We have money we want to put in their pockets but the dealers are still mysteriously saying "no". That's not capitalism at it's best. I do believe their position will change at some point, but it seems to be a problem right now. Your input, however, is ALWAYS valuable. Thanks for visiting this site, sir! (and I'm now a 451 owner as well! Shhhhh!)
I wish that were the case Kane! It sure would make things a bit easier. I figured when i bought my 450 I would use the service dept of the place I bought it from. I tried them twice and both times it was horrible. Thank goodness for your site as it helped me through all my services and all my performance mods.
I stopped into the smart center selling the 451 by my house a few months ago. The individual there had all kinds of questions about my car and the changes to it. They were very interested to learn about the car however when I asked about service they told me they could not touch it.
I have gotten more help from Mike and Sasha at SAD via email and telephone than I have from the smart center only an hour from my house.
Needless to say my next purchase will be the Magus so I can continue servicing my own car.

I believe there is a place in Santa Monica with the computer/software. I'll try to dig up the info.
