smartUSA has provided enough to satisfy U.S. law as far as information goes - an online, paid access availability. Nothing about making specialized tools available (if there are really any necessary).

Otherwise, the Robert Bentley Publishers editorial board (as last they told me), has approved of a publication.

Like a set of those service bolts? Makes working on the engine much more easy. May have to get some from Canada

Received this morning:

Message: Dave,
No news on the smart manual. Feel free to check back to give us a kick periodically.

After the editorial board approved the concept, it was kicked up to the owner. Dunno where it lies there. At the time they said they were very busy, but had begun to gather the technical data.

I'm sticking to Smart while I'm under warranty, but after that, I'd like to go back to my regular mechanic of a dozen years or so. Even if I'm not the weekend tinkerer I used to be, it would be good to have a manual to put on the seat whenever I take the car in. Double benefit keeping both of us out of trouble.

Are the manuals available in Canada or the UK? There's always room in the luggage for a couple of good books.

manual

found this - couldn't tell you anything about it.

Smart Car Workshop Manuals, Smart Car Service, Repair and Maintenance manuals from Genner Sales UK.

asked our Brit friends about the Genner UK manual mentioned above. they seem dubious: http://www.smartmaniacs.co.uk/forums...ad.php?t=57347

then there's Dan's:
http://www.dgraves.net/
a bit, as they say "funky" but I got one about 2 1/2 yrs ago and have found it useful.

looks like Haynes is thinking about it:
http://www.haynes.co.uk/webapp/wcs/s...5225&langId=-1

and then there is this:
mercedes benz workshop repair manuals,sl,handbook,service,uk
.... . Smart Car W/Manual & Technical Information Service available. Please ask for more details.autoliterature@autoinprint.co.uk POA HOW TO ORDER...
http://www.autoinprint.freeserve.co....%20manuals.htm
again, couldn't tell you anything about it.

Anything smartUSA provides is going to be for '08 and '09 only, right.

whoa

whoa there lebikerboy, plagiarism, that's a mighty big accusation. sure you don't want to reconsider? you might want to say something like, "a lot of the info on the CD comes from the Evilution website, though reorganized [along with added info from other sources] into a more easily usable format."
On my copy of the CD Dan credits Evilution. That makes it NOT plagiarism. Additionally, as far as I have been able to determine, the info was used with the permission of Evilution.
