Tires

Hi,

One of my back tires went terribly bad the other day and I'm looking for a replacement.
The tire size is 175/55 16 and the only tire I've been able to find is a Yokohama which is $200. D:

I have a 2000 Smart fortwo. Any recommendations on where to purchase a (hopefully) less expensive tire?

I think the sticky point is the 16" diameter. I didn't realize the 450s used 16" tires unless it is some sort of specialty model. But, you're right, the only thing listed on Tire Rack for that size in a 16" tire is the expensive Yoko and it might not be a good idea to replace just one of the rear tires. I would imagine that different rear tires with different amounts of tread wear may not be good for stability, etc.

Oops! Missed the 16" stuff. Check this link to Evilutions site for tire sizes for different smart models Evilution - Smart Car Encyclopaedia. Might help you find the wheels your running on the 2000 fotwo and the representitive tire size. There may be optionnal sizes for your wheels if you can talk with a dealer.
