The 450 is not as livable of a car for a day to day basis - especially considering you have to hunt someone down to work on it and can't just take it to the dealer in the event something blows up. In the US, parts are harder to come by and more expensive.
As for having more personality and being better looking - those are both subjective facts and have no real weight in this thread. I find the earlier Almond headlight coupe to be much better looking than the later peanut eyed coupe, but both of them have an inferior interior, transmission, engine and equipment level to the loaded 451. Just my opinion.
Also, Dinky - the 450 Diesel *is* designed and engineered by MB - it is not the Suprex engine that we have been speaking of in here.

you say, "you have to hunt someone down to work on it and can't just take it to the dealer in the event something blows up". Believe me this is not a Pro for you and the 451, it's definitely a Con. you can just take it to the dealer and get gouged. Many posts on this forum complaining about the high cost of dealer repairs and dealer delays in getting parts. May depend on where you live but I had no problem whatsoever finding an independent garage to work on my 450. And, with so few dealers - they aren't everywhere either.
you say, "parts are harder to come by and more expensive." Not true again. I have had my 450 for more than 3 yrs and same independent garage has done all the service. Had "A", "B", "C", maintenance and front brake pads. No problem getting parts or accessories - all the parts and all this work done for less than comparable 451 work done at a dealer.
you say, "have an inferior interior, transmission, engine and equipment level to the loaded 451. Just my opinion." Finally, I can agree that this is just your opinion and as such just a subjective opinion that has no real weight in this thread.
lastly, lets not forget that the suprex engine was designed, developed, engineered, and manufactured by Mercedes-Benz.
