'Stalling at a stop'....the 451 has a anti-roll back...could it have been that? Or was it really stalling? Also at a level stop the trans will hunt for second before going into a complete 'idle' mode. At 2100 miles mine is fine......

'how' are you going to know 'if it continues' and 'what' further action will you take? call them out on it....either it happened or it didn't. 'if' their demos are in THAT BAD of condition, this information needs to be passed on to 'smartusa' AND this forum.

Post up some real verifiable information.
yes, it does....like 'location, USA'?

btw, i'm sure the dealers investment runs into the MILLIONS of dollars and with smart car sales their only way of profiting (no cars to speak of already out there needing parts and service), they would have to be morons to not only have their demos in such poor condition but to make those alleged comments.

He mentions only issues that have been discussed here on the forums also. I smell a rat.

I share your concerns and will assume the accusations are false without further disclosure from the person that started this thread!

It just ticked me off because I was really wanting to show it off and both demo models had issues. There are so many skeptics out there and I feel these kind of vehicles need to be accepted before we can move ahead. It dosent help when the demos are trashed and the sales staff cant answer your questions. They were walking around trying to come up with catchy slogans .

Thanks again. I think I will leave the dealerships name out for now but if it continues I will take further action.
All I can say is "SAVE THE WATCHES, FOLKS! IT'S TOO LATE FOR THE SHOES!" ;) 'Kinda reminds me of a friend's wife from years ago. She'd walk into a room full of people laughing and talking and having a good time, bring up some controversial topic (usually politics), and then when everyone was angry & yelling in each others' faces, she'd walk out with a big smile on her face!! ;) She was REALLY good at that! I suspect that this person is, also. Somewhere in the U.S.A? Aren't we ALL??

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Wow, way to jump on the new guy. I live in TN, the dealership is in Atlanta, GA. Call the dealership if you like to verify that the red demo model had a problem with passenger seat and a loose roof while the white demo model had a service engine light on and almost stalled at a few full stops.

I joined this forum out of my excitment for this automobile and was just a little concerned about what I saw with the demo models. I am for this vehicle and want other people to be excited about it. I posted my question here out of faith in you guys and lack thereof in the dealership.

I will still be purchasing a Smart because I think it is a past due concept more Americans need to adopt and I love the car.

Sorry if I bummed anybody out I was just frustrated and needed all of your advice.

Yeah, everyone should be careful about the pitchfork thing... guys, the original poster only posted 36 hours ago. Not all of us actually spend every waking hour drooling over the next post like I do. *ahem, but anyway*

It's entirely conceivable that a single dealer, single sales manager, is not keeping to the best interests of business. It happens. When it does, it should be corrected.

Try not to 'smell a rat/troll' so quickly. The world isn't out to get you... it's out to get me.
