Cruise Control?

Should be getting a yellow Cabrio(hopefully next month). I would like to see if anyone has put an after market cruise control on the car. The wife drives long back roads to work and would like cruise control.

Any help would be appreciated.

Scott

Do a search for cruise control and I think you'll find what you're looking for.

I spoke to my sales lady and she told me the parts guy is working something out with a supplier and will have those at the Dallas dealership pretty soon.

Wooooo Hooooo. Love to have cruise control!

Bumblebee, could you please keep us updated on your dealer's progress, so we can spread the word to our dealers? Thanks.

Cruise control development

I have been watching a company develop a cruise control for the SMART on there web site. They are very close to releasing in the next few months.

It looks like it would look like a factory type install when done.

Here is the link:

This is a source for a Cruise Control for the 451. I have the same control but, for the 450. It is a straight forward install (NO tan code).

The other thing that is intregral with mine is an extra protection that: When leaving the car, you enter a 4 button sequence. If while you are absent the wrong person (even if they have the key and the remote and are able to start the car.... the (by wire) accelerator is immobilized. When you return you simply enter the same 4 button sequence (changeable sequence)
I imagine this excellent feature is std on the 451 version as well.

I am extremly pleased with mine

After driving on a long road trip last week the cruise control will be a great upgrade. After a few hours of having your foor on gas the seating position gets a tag uncomfortable. I think with the cruise you can adjust your seating position when needed. So I am definitely getting it when it comes out.

Yep, I did 100 miles in one stretch and my right hip hurt for nearly 2 weeks. I took a lot of Extra Strength Tylenol, took to sitting on my rolled up scraf and had to sleep on my left side at night more than I care to remember. Cruise Control is a definite in my little smartie. Can't wait for others to test it out before I purchase it. In the meantime, I actually keep drups in my car now because spontaneous road trips are the norm every weekend. I find myself checking out the Jersey shore and it's great! Regina
