EV smart (electrified)

K,
I wonder if you could give me the name of the company that makes de electric engines for the smart and also the type of batteries that are using.
Finally do you think that is possible to replace de gas engine for an electric engine in the car?
Thanks
Gus

Hybrid Technologies main office is in Arizona, I think, and the conversion plant is in Mooresville, NC.

EV smart

Moved EV posts to this new thread (they were posted in "heated mirror", obviously not appropriate).
Thank you.

They quote $43,500 for the Smart EV from Hybrid Technologies | changing the world by reinventing power They are getting the Smart with no engine or drivetrain from the factory and then making it electric. I had a great conversation with a lady from the Mooresville NC facility in April she even invited me down to view the facility and drive some of the cars unfortunately I have not made it there yet. They are taking orders on line for the Smart at Order your Lithium Powered Vehicle | Hybrid Technologies
They even arrange financing. This looks like about $28,000 more than a gas model. I could buy 7800 gallons of fuel at $3.59 a gallon for premium. Pay back will be at 312,000 miles.OUCH!
