Genuine smart wind deflector

i have ordered and cabrio. have seen several at meetings and the dealer. and driven them. a fellow smartie in kc got a wind deflector from smart maddness. seem the cars are missing the clips on top of the cross bar. the bottom clips are there. you can see the top clips in the brochure on a couple of pages. and in the photo of the smart maddnees page. but none of the cars i have seen or the 2 cabs at the dealer have them. the fellow smartie in kc that has bought the screen is not able to use it, as the top clips are missing.

ANY INFO ON THIS WOULD BE A GREAT HELP

Wind deflector in Houston

Here's a photo of one method:

Saw this one on a Cabrio at the last Houston meet I attended; can't remember whose car it was but maybe they'll see this and chime in.

Not my car, don't know the answer. Maybe a Cabrio expert can give you more details.

The top clips on the rollbar are not on the U.S.-spec 451, so the only method I've seen posted in this forum is the black bungee cord method posted above. I thought it was a pretty good solution although the holes could be reinforced with a rubber grommet to spread out the pressure exerted by the cords on the deflector material.

Use bungees for wind deflector

Howdy all
I got a euro spec wind deflector (windschott) for my cabrio.

Our US version does not have the upper attachments.

You can use the following ($1.99) for attachment.
Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

Loop the non-ball end through the upper (as shown in an earlier pic)
Then over the rear of the roll bar and down to hook with the deflector's lower attachment loops.

See the following for detailed pics.

Wind deflector

Hi, I am the parts Manager at smart of Santa Barbara, we have in stock the 4 pieces of the Euro roll bar padding. The Euro padding has the upper attachment for the wind deflector. phone 805-682-2000 if you have questions.

So how does one remove the existing padding neatly? From other posts, it's my understanding that the padding is glued down thoroughly and removing it is a bear and leaves big splotches of glued down padding material.

They are not glued , they snap together, you just pry them apart and then you snap the new pieces in place, there are locator holes on the bar.
