well i do not know about it on the smart. a man in kc that has one said it is not as windy. some cars that i have had and been in [not smarts]. it does make a difference and make it nicer when the weather is cooler or even cold. but that is not my point at this time. seems there is something missing on the USA cars. and would like to help those who do have the part to get them to fit properly and to get mine to work when i get my car.

that seems very reasonable. so do all the dealers know about this or just your dealer?

I had a convertible that gave me a throbbing headache every time I'd take it on the freeway. That one needed a windscreen.

But the Smart is so pleasant. Why would you want a windscreen?

same thing with me. the point is, i'm and individual and what ever my reason for wanting one or trying to find the right parts is my goal. that makes me an individual. i am not hear to have a highschool, debate as to what i would like to have for my own individual car.

again thanks so much the those of you who helped find the parts for those of us who have and will have the wind screen. for our individual cars.

The question for me: does the windscreen mean I can drive over 30mph with the top *and* windows down? The wind beats the side of my head at typical road speeds. My drive home from the dealer with the rails off was mostly spent with my left hand cupped over my ear. I've been "windows up" when the top is down ever since.

I'm reviving this thread. Anyone have experience with the wind deflector on their smart yet? I want to know if it keeps your hair from blowing back into your face (for you girls or long haired guys out there). I have to wear a ponytail and/or a sun visor over my hair to see where I'm going!

I have the wind deflector. It is VERY effective keeping wind down as long as the windows are rolled up. I wear a cap that can fall off when I walk down the sidewalk. With the deflector in place I can drive at 75 to 80 and even forget the top is down. I feel the Deflector is the most valuable acc.that Smart offers.
Thanks,...Alan Travis
