Just drove home in the snow.

Good thing I had my Blizzaks on the car.

It did pretty well. Higher snow does push the car around a lot more then a heavier car. Traction control and stability control system were real busy even with a light foot.

Did you ever, drive in snow before you put on the Blizzaks???? How many inches of snow??? With and with out snow tires how much is there a difference, getting around. The car should start to snow bottom out around 7-8" of snow.

No I never drove with the stock tire. Quite frankly, I would be scared. Even with the Blizzaks, the car was pushed around a lot. At no time did I think I'd get stuck.

About 6 inches today. Road snow varied. Some around 2-4 inches but some piles higher and they tend to shove the car to the sides.

Been driving on the stock since the beginning of the snowy season here in the northern part of Indiana. Not a problem. Seems to do fine as long as I drive according to the conditions. Wouldn't mind a set of snow tires but in my 31 years of driving I haven't had a set yet. Snow, ice and frezin rain today, saw a lot of sliding but it was not me.

Drove home in 6+ inches w/stock tires.

Not a problem, except the fact that the jerk who plows our parking lot seemed to think it would be funny to turn my car into a pile of snow...and my driveway was socked in and poor little binky couldn't quite get it's belly up and over the big ole mean lump.

win

I was nervous all day today at work as I watched the snow piling up. I hadn't been out in anything more than an inch or so. I was expecting the worst, since I have the stock tires on my smart.

By the time I left work, there was 4 inches or more on the ground. Quite frankly, I was very impressed. I had no problems at all. I drove very slowly, and put into practice all the snow driving techniques I learned 27 years ago in high school driver ed class (Thanks, Mr. Cinelli!). The traction control was working overtime to keep everything stable. The smart handled FAR FAR better than my last car (Ford Focus). Now that I know it can handle 4-6 inches very well, I will not be getting snow tires. If there is more than that on the ground, the smart will stay in the garage.

The car, with either stock or aftermarket tires/wheels handles amazingly if the traction/abs fuse is installed. I never encountered any problems if you drive it like a RWD/engined car...

Don't let off the gas enterering of mid way through a corner and you shouldn't have any problems with understeer assuming you weren't coming in too fast.

Best,

-Dan

Dan, is that what you meant? Or did you mean uninstalled? I ask because in a different thread you talk about removing the fuse.

BTW, which fuse is it?

Thanks.
