Just showed the Cube to my wife. She said it looks like a big minivan.

I do like standing by my smart, it makes everything look bigger.

Functionally, nice car -- roomy for the size, comfortable, and the rear door hinged on the left side is a nice touch from a Japanese manufacturer with their RHD home market.
Stylistically? The Dr. Seuss school of design doesn't quite appeal to me. Fair enough, I'm probably not their target demographic.

I was in Cleveland, Ohio today and a guy told me his frend just got a smart car mini van. I wonder if he was talking about a cube?

that is weird... yesterday a little girl walking across the parking lot with her mother says - "Look Mom, a pink mini van!" I've had a lot of comments about pink zippy, but being called a mini van... - that's a first!

The new cube does very well in crash tests. The videos posted earlier in this thread were of the last-gen cube.

I have had 4 smarts. Two 2008 models and two 2009 models and I can honestly say I like my Cube much better. The ride and room as well as unique look is great. Also front wheel drive and the ability to turn off the stability control which gave me real trouble last winter in the smart. I still have a passion for the smart but when you compare features and then the cost which is lower than the smart Passion model there was no comparison for me.

I hated the cube till I saw it in black..the black makes it look so much cleaner and less 'Dr. Seuss like' than the white and silver that are so common. I'll probably get a Cube or a 1st gen xB AFTER I pick up my smart next year...might take a while though, I have a BMW to modify after I get another car!
