Hi All, Got Mine today!
Where is the subwoofer located?
Also in the "radio" manual it says you can set your radio to view station names/artists, but I can't find out where its at. I hope they installed the Upgraded radio............

Mine came with the subwoofer too, but I can't find the thing.

Supposedly under the drivers seat but I have my doubts...

Turn it up REAL LOUD. Now, look under the drivers seat.

I cant hear ANY difference between LOUDNESS turned "on" or "off".

The smart website is totally confusing on this, but I picked up a brochure at the dealer the other day.

According to the brochure, Radio 10 is ONLY the radio. There is also a separate "Hi-Fi Package". The brochure says :"Enhance your smart premium radio with the smart sound system, featuring 2 tweeters, 2 mid-range speakers and subwoofer. (Standard on passion cabriolet. Optional on passion coupe.)"

I don't recall a "Hi-Fi" package when I configured. It seems clear from the brochure that Radio 10 is ONLY the radio.

Anyone know the score on this?

And did you look under the carpet in the "front" firewall, passenger side? I vaguely remember a picture that looked like it could be there. Provided you ordered the "smart sound system" (5 speakers).

1. Loudness - This setting is for CDs only. It boosts bass and treble slightly when playing the volume low. Does not affect radio.

2. Sub woofer is a small one and is installed under the driver's seat.

3. Names of songs - not available for the USA version.

Perhaps by the 2009 model smart will smarten up and realize the audio package is an important feature in today's cars. They didn't even opt for SAT compatibility.

Thanks Carnut, I'll search under the seat again tomorrow. Any one have any cool ideas for hooking in or mounting an iPod?

Nope, that's where the tire goop and pump kit, tow hook and battery are stored. I found all those when I picked up the car today and insisted they show me where the battery was. The guy delivering the car was learning along with me it seemed and the receptionist figured it out....true.
